Frequently Asked Questions
What are your hours of operation?
Night Paws in an after-hours service running exclusively from 6p.m. to 10p.m. As a small business owner, I am also handling my own secretarial work. Appointment booking is from 10a.m. to 4p.m. Monday through Thursday. Bookings starting at 10p.m. may run up to two hours after appointment start time. Same day bookings are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Do you do emergency, ambulance, or same day appointments?
Night paws is not an emergency service and if your loved one is experiencing a medical emergency please bring them to your nearest emergency veterinarian. I am unfortunately not able to offer animal ambulance services at this time. Same day appointments may be considered as my schedule permits but are not guaranteed.
What payments do you accept?
Only cash, check, credit card, and debit card can be accepted at this time.
What are the weight requirements for aftercare services?
Pets up to 90 lbs can receive aftercare upon request for an additional fee. You may need to arrange for care of your loved one directly with the crematory or your primary care doctor. Call for a quote for your specific baby’s weight.
What constitutes a convenience euthanasia?
Veterinarians have differing opinions on when it's appropriate to euthanize a pet. To me, euthanizing a pet with a good quality of life is not appropriate. It is unethical to shorten the life of living creatures simply for the owner’s convenience. I evaluate each case before proceeding with euthanasia to make sure that it is an appropriate option based on the health of the pet, and the time, money, and care restrictions of the family.
